COSCA Diploma in CBT – Module Tutor

The Glasgow Cognitive Therapy Centre (GCTC) is inviting applicants to join the team as a freelance
tutor to deliver modular teaching on our COSCA-validated diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
(credit levelled by UWS at SCQF Level 11)

The minimum requirements for this role include:

  • COSCA membership
  • Working as a practising CBT Practitioner who holds a DipCBT qualification or equivalent for at
    least 2 years.
  • To have a qualification in teaching or learning and development consistent with COSCA

  • Be working towards COSCA Diploma Trainer Accreditation
  • Having a passion for teaching and developing the next generation of CBT therapists
  • Enjoy working in a collaborative way with participants, peers and GCTC staff.

 

Preferred candidates will:

  • Be registered as a COSCA Accredited Diploma Trainer
  • Be an accredited therapist with either COSCA, BABCP or BACP∙
  • Have advanced knowledge in any of the following: depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, personality disorders and third-wave approaches (ACT, DBT, Schema Therapy, CFT)

 

Job Title: (Accredited) Freelance Trainer, Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Location: Teaching in-person at the GCTC in Glasgow City Centre. Some online teaching via Zoom.

Dates/Hours: To be confirmed.

Duration: 2 Diploma modules (23 units per module) a year minimum

Role Requirements:
A minimum of 2 modules a year with the scope to increase.

Based on 1 taught Module:

Teaching – 1 weekday evening a week per module (1800-2100) with occasional full-day Saturdays
(0930-1230, 1330-1630). Each module consists of 60 teaching hours.
Marking – assessment of written work, presentations, and skills practice
Meetings- attendance at regular tutor Zoom meetings.

Pay:

Accredited Trainers – £90 per 3-hour session (hourly rate includes any class preparation time and
participant email correspondence outside of lesson).
£25 per marked assignment
£10 per tutor meeting attended.
Average pay per Module consisting of 12 students – £2110.

Non-Accredited Trainers – £75 per 3-hour session (hourly rate includes any class preparation time
and participant email correspondence outside of lesson).
£20 per marked assignment
£10 per tutor meeting attended.
Non-accredited trainers must apply for COSCA trainer accreditation and be working through the
requirements as part of the role.

Status: This is a freelance post. You will be an independent contractor, not an employee or a worker,
so there is no sick pay or holiday pay.
