About Us

Glasgow Cognitive Therapy Centre

Glasgow Cognitive Therapy Centre (GCTC) was established in 2011 and is a leading provider of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) services and professional counselling training in Glasgow and online, supporting individuals and practitioners across Scotland. We deliver evidence-based therapy, accredited training pathways and structured professional development within an environment grounded in ethical practice, academic rigour and genuine support.

At GCTC, we recognise that therapy and counselling training are transformative processes. Whether someone is accessing private CBT therapy in Glasgow or across Scotland, or enrolling on a recognised counselling skills course, the work involves reflection, professional development and meaningful change. We are committed to supporting each person as an individual — not simply as a client or student. Our approach combines evidence-based structure with warmth, inclusivity and respect, creating an environment where personal and professional growth can flourish.

Our private therapy services offer confidential, evidence-based CBT for anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, life transitions and relationship difficulties. We integrate structured CBT interventions with compassionate therapeutic practice, helping individuals develop practical coping strategies, emotional resilience and long-term psychological wellbeing. Therapy at GCTC is focused not only on symptom relief but on sustainable change and empowerment.

We deliver high-quality counselling training in Glasgow & online which is designed to meet recognised professional standards. Our pathways include counselling skills training and diploma-level CBT training, providing clear progression routes for those pursuing careers in therapy. Students benefit from applied skills development, reflective practice and academic guidance, ensuring they graduate with confidence, competence and ethical awareness.

Our CBT training programmes in Scotland are structured to support both foundational learning and advanced clinical development. We understand that many of our students aim to progress towards professional accreditation and enhanced therapeutic competence. Our training therefore emphasises evidence-based models, clinical application, supervision and ongoing professional identity development.

Continual professional development is central to our ethos. Qualification is not the end point; it is the beginning of ongoing growth. Through Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events, advanced CBT workshops, supervision opportunities and professional networking, we support therapists and counsellors across Scotland in maintaining standards, deepening expertise and remaining aligned with current research and practice developments.

Our values underpin everything we do. We prioritise support, structure and growth. We create learning and therapeutic environments that are safe, reflective and non-judgemental, where diversity of experience and perspective is respected. We believe professional excellence and human warmth can and should coexist.

In addition to private CBT therapy in Glasgow, we offer validated counselling courses, diploma-level CBT training, CPD workshops, corporate wellbeing training and professional room hire facilities. Our services support individuals seeking therapy, students beginning counselling training in Glasgow, qualified practitioners pursuing CBT training in Scotland, and organisations investing in staff wellbeing and psychological development.

If you are searching for counselling training in Glasgow, CBT training in Scotland, or evidence-based private therapy services delivered within a supportive and professionally structured environment, Glasgow Cognitive Therapy Centre provides clear progression pathways, ethical standards and ongoing professional support to help you develop with confidence
