This is a 2 year part-time course which will allow you to practice as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. It will allow you to work towards accreditation as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with COSCA or BABCP.
About the Course
The GCTC Diploma course runs on Thursday evenings and Saturdays and comprises 14 modules as follows:
Modules 1 -3
The first 3 modules provide a solid foundation in principles and concepts of the Cognitive Behavioural Approach. Completion of these modules result in a certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Interventions (COSCA Validated).
Modules 4-13
These modules comprise advanced knowledge in CBT, including :
- Research and Analysis in Therapy
- CBT and Groupwork
- Human Development
- Depression in Context
- Eating Disorders
- Anxiety Disorders I and II
- Addictions
- Developments in CBT
- Personality Disorders
Module 14 is an assessed practice module.
There are 20 hours of individual clinical supervision which are included in the fees.
Students require to undertake a minimum of 100 individual clinical practice hours, 4 case studies and 12 hours of groupwork.
To gain entry on to this course, you must have completed the COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills or equivalent.
