About the Course
This is our entry level CBT qualification which is intended for people already in a guidance role e.g. counsellors, teachers, ministers/priests, CPNs, GPs, social workers, allied health professionals and other support workers in various fields.
Our CertCBI course provides introductory training in dealing a wide range of issues, including low mood and depression; stress, worry and anxiety; self-esteem, self-worth and self-acceptance.
Students will be introduced to a structured way of working which helps people understand and work through their presenting challenges.
Over a six month period you will learn a comprehensive set of tools which will empower your clients to identify their unhelpful thinking patterns and learn new ways of coping with a number of personal challenges such as low mood, depression, anxiety, anger, OCD, phobias, stress and worry.
Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Interventions (40 SCQF credits at level 9).
Students are introduced to a structured way of working to help their clients understand and approach presenting challenges within the systems model of CBT. To complete the course students will be expected to complete the following:
- 2 modules amounting to 120 hours of training
- 20 hours of placement
A certificate of attendance will be issued for those students unable to complete the clinical hours
The cost of course includes 8 hours CBT clinical supervision in addition to course hours.
All applicants are required to have completed at least the minimum of modules 1 and 2 of the COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills (or equivalent).
We will also ask for all students to apply for a PVG Scheme Membership for work with protected adults (for a new membership or if your PVG scheme only allows work with children it will be £59 and if you have an existing membership for work with protected adults it will be £18 for a record scheme update).

Friday 9th February 2018 6pm-9pm. This course will run on Friday evenings and include 1 full Saturday (9:30am-4:30pm) per month.

The cost of the course is £2,300 (inc VAT). Tuition fees can be repaid by a pre-agreed payment plan if required. There is also a SAAS part-time fee grant available for eligible students that will pay £402 of the course fees.
